Carmel Market
Carmel Market is Tel Aviv’s most vibrant marketplace, established in the 1920s as a humble Yemenite market. It is one of the best places in Tel Aviv to procure fresh local produce since 1950’s and nothing has changed since then.
Our tasting tour introduces guests to the heartbeat of Israel’s modern city – in the stalls of the city’s largest outdoor market, the Carmel Market (“Shuk HaCarmel” in Hebrew). Diving in to the depths of the Carmel Market, and its neighboring historic Yemenite Quarter backstreets, we also learn about the development of Israeli cuisine through the country’s history and how four generations of vendors are able to maintain their shops after almost 100 years.
